Niger Govt To Constructs 3,000 Houses For IDP’S In Shiroro LGA..

Plans have reached an advance stage by the Niger State Government to construct three thousand homes for the Internally Displaced Persons in Shiroro Local Government Area to alleviate their hardship.

 Of the three thousand homes, one thousand modern houses each are to be constructed in Alawa, Kuribi and Erena for the internally displaced persons taken refuge at various centres in the area.

State Governor Muhammed Umar Bago who stated this in Gwada, Shiroro Local Government Area in continuation of his visit to inspect some ongoing protects in the area, also spoke of plans by Niger state Government to close down all IDP camps in the state.

Governor Umar Bago further explained that the idea by his administration to construct the new IDP camps is to accommodate all the displaced persons from these areas due to naferious activities of bandits”.

According to him he has spoked to the Emir of Minna, Umaru Farouk Bahago to allocate free lands for government to commence the construction, pointing out that government had placed ordered to procure equipment from South Africa that would mold blocks for the construction of the houses”.

Bago however maintained that the new houses would serve as temporary homes for the DIP’S pending when the security situation improves in their villages and assured that all public schools in the area affected by the activities of banditry would be rehabilitated and equipped with teaching and learning materials.

Mohammed Umar Bago also appealed to people of the area to be patient with Federal and state Governments to enable it tackle the problem of insecurity that have bedeviling the area, and however promised to construct new road from Maraban Dan Daudu to Gwada,and from Gwada to Kuta,as well as construct modern market in Gwada,and new general hospital among others.

Chairman, Shiroro Local Government Area, Akilu Kuta, and the representative of the Gwada community, Professor James Galadima expressed delight over the unwavering support of Governor Bago to uplift the living standard of rural communities and assured of their support at all times to succeed.
