The Bauchi State Health Contributory Management Agency (BASHCMA) has initiated the development of its 2026 Annual Operational Plan (AOP) to ensure alignment with the state’s upcoming fiscal framework.

The planning meeting, which runs from August 29th to 31st, 2025, includes participants from all agency directorates. In his opening address, Executive Secretary Alhaji Ibrahim Inuwa Duguri (Yariman Yankari) urged attendees to develop a realistic, actionable, and inclusive roadmap. He cautioned against including unrealistic activities or inflated costs, which could impact the agency’s performance ratings.

The meeting also emphasized aligning the AOP with the National Health Sector Strategic Blueprint (2023–2027) and the new Federal Government Sector-Wide Approach (SWAp) initiative, as highlighted by State Deputy Desk Officer Pharmacist Ibrahim Muhammad.

The Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Hajiya Rahmatu Haruna Musa, stated the goal is to collaboratively design a plan that supports BASHCMA’s strategic goals and Bauchi State’s health priorities. A goodwill message was delivered by Mr. Jinjiri John Garba, representing civil society organizations.
