Leaders of Islamic schools and singers in Bauchi State have expressed gratitude to Wunti Alkhair Foundation for distributing hundreds of bags of rice to them ahead of this year’s Maulud celebrations.
Chairmen of the two beneficiary groups – Malam Ibrahim Baba Karami of Islamic schools union otherwise known as Riyadul Islam and Malam Nasiru Sudani of Shu’araun Nabi described the gesture as unprecedented in the state, noting that it would ease their burdens during the festivities.
“We are deeply grateful for the foundation’s support. This gesture will go a long way in easing our burdens and enabling us to continue our activities comfortably,” they said.

According to the groups, the schools received 632 bags of rice, while the singers got 744 bags, bringing the total beneficiaries to 400 schools and 200 singersacross Bauchi State.
The distribution was carried out at a ceremony in Bauchi where the foundation officials urged fair sharing of the items among members.
Speaking at the event Volunteer media aide of the foundation, Isiyaka Ismail Wunti, said the food distribution was aimed at ensuring Muslims celebrate the Maulud festival with ease and joy.
Also Speaking the legal officer of the foundation, Umar Abubakar Magaji, explained that the initiative was part of the organisation’s efforts to promote the welfare of Muslims in the state.
He said the foundation had earlier undertaken similar interventions during Ramadan fast and Sallah festivities.
