In an effort to support education for vulnerable groups, the Kano State Accountability Forum on Education (KSAFE) has donated over 1,000 textbooks to orphans and vulnerable children in the State.

The donation, which took place at the Murtala Muhammad Library, is an annual programme aimed at promoting education among vulnerable children.

The Co-Chair of KSAFE, Dr Auwalu Halilu, emphasised the importance of education in breaking the cycle of poverty and improving the future prospects of vulnerable children, saying “Education is a right that every child deserves.”

He highlighted that the initiative is part of KSAFE’s efforts towards ensuring that education remains accessible to all children, regardless of their background.

“The forum considered various factors, including economic status and overall need, to ensure that the textbooks reached those who needed them most,” Dr Halilu explained.

He also called on Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and community leaders to support education initiatives, complementing the state government’s efforts to enhance the education sector.

The donation received positive feedback from the community, with many expressing gratitude and support for initiatives aimed at uplifting the less privileged and underserved communities.
