The Gombe State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Jibrin Idris, has commended the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria, YOWICAN, in Gombe State for its commitment to promoting peace and harmony.
In a statement, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Buhari Saad, said the commendation was made when the Commandant received the Chairman of the association, Alhamdu Barnabas Jatau ( Esq.), and his delegation during a familiarisation visit to the Command.
Commandant Idris described the youth as critical stakeholders in national development and assured the association of the Command’s support for its activities, including providing security coverage when necessary.
He further urged the association to share credible intelligence that would assist the Corps in safeguarding critical national assets and preventing acts of vandalism across the state.
In his remarks, Chairman of YOWICAN, Alhamdu Jatau appreciated the Commandant for his leadership and contributions to security in Gombe State.
He also briefed the Commandant on the association’s activities, including preparations for the forthcoming annual procession rally, and sought guidance to ensure the event’s peaceful conduct.
