Northeast Zonal Coordinator of the Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All, CSACEFA, Hajia Halima Mahdi, has called on governments and private sector employers to create safe, inclusive, and supportive environments that enable women to thrive.
In an interview with Radio Nigeria, she emphasized the importance of providing facilities and opportunities that allow women to contribute effectively to society, driving overall community development.
Hajia Halima Mahdi stressed that safe spaces are critical for women to thrive without fear of harassment, intimidation, or discrimination.
She said Governments and private sector employers should provide facilities such as well-equipped bathrooms and designated break areas to create a conducive learning atmosphere in schools.
The northeast CSACEFA zonal coordinator explained that the Workplaces should have breastfeeding rooms, childcare facilities, and strict anti-harassment policies to ensure a more inclusive and supportive environment for female workers.
She also appealed to Individuals and organizations to consider donating essential items like panties and pads to support hygiene and ease challenges faced by disadvantaged women.
Hajia Halima Mahdi called on Parents to take an active role in their children’s upbringing, providing guidance to address moral challenges in society.
Her appeal aims to foster government action and parental involvement to promote equity and. Societal progress.
