Yobe State Government Highlights Infrastructure Achievements in 2024

The Yobe State Government has announced significant progress in infrastructure development throughout 2024, showcasing its commitment to improving the state.

Engineer Umar Wakil Duddaye, the State Commissioner for Works, detailed the ministry’s achievements during a press briefing, emphasizing Governor Mai Mala Buni’s dedication to the state’s growth.

Key road projects completed in 2024 include:

  • Damaturu-Kalallawa Dual Carriageway: 25 kilometers at a cost of N1.6 billion.
  • Jajimaji-Karasuwa Road: Completed for N2 billion.
  • Chumbusko-Tagali Road: 10 kilometers at a cost of N3.3 billion.
  • Damagum Township Roads and Drainages: Completed for N530 million.
  • Potiskum Township Roads: 2.6 kilometers for N582 million.
  • Jajimaji Township Roads and Drainages: Completed at N788 million.
  • Biriri-Babbangida Road Rehabilitation: Rehabilitation along Damaturu-Gashua road costing N98.6 million.
  • Katarko-Goniri Road Rehabilitation: Rehabilitation with earthworks and culverts in Gujba LGA for N62.8 million.
  • Buni Yadi-Buni Gari Road Repairs: Road repairs in Gujba LGA costing N69.8 million.
  • Kayayya Bridge Earthworks: Construction of approach earthworks in Geidam LGA for N294 million.
  • Kayayya Bridge Triple Box Culvert: Construction in Geidam LGA costing N32,854,054.70.
  • Bukar Abba Ibrahim Estate Entrance: Asphalting of the entrance along Potiskum road for N93 million.

Engr. Duddaye highlighted the government’s significant investments in infrastructure to promote economic growth and improve the lives of citizens.
