The Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, on Friday joined thousands of faithful for the historic commissioning of the Dodore Islamic Centre and Mosque, a project spearheaded by the National Security Adviser to the President, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
The Governor, who served as the Special Guest of Honour, performed the two Rak’ah Jumu’ah prayer at the newly opened mosque before leading the official commissioning ceremony.
He was accompanied by top state government officials and other dignitaries.
The newly commissioned centre is a comprehensive facility designed to serve the community’s spiritual and educational needs. Key features include:a 774-capacity Jumu’ah Mosque,fully equipped Islamiyya School, Administrative Offices and Several other ancillary facilities.
Prominent Islamic scholars delivered sermons and goodwill messages. Sheikh Bala Lau, represented by Dr. Jalo Jalingo, and Sheikh Ibrahim Khalifa, alongside Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, charged the Muslim Ummah to use the centre as a place to seek deeper knowledge of Allah (SWT) and to utilize the facility for its intended purpose of worship and community development.
The Lamido of Adamawa, Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha, represented by the Galadima Adamawa, Mustapha Aminu, praised the project. He described the centre as “a testament to the commitment and determination of the National Security Adviser to the President,” Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
The Chairman of the occasion and Wakilin Adamawa, Ambassador Hassan Adamu, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to Allah for the progress witnessed in the state. He hailed the commissioning of the mosque as a historic milestone for the community and the state at large.
The event concluded with prayers for peace, progress, and sustained development in Adamawa State and Nigeria.
