The Governing Council of Federal University Kashere in Gombe State has approved the appointment of Professor Mohammed Inuwa Ja’afar as the fourth Vice-Chancellor of the institution.
The announcement was made during the Council’s 10th Special Meeting, held on the 3rd of February, 2026.
A statement issued by the University’s Information Officer Janet Ezekiel explained that the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council Professor Williams Olushola Aderounmu, said Professor Ja’afar emerged as the leading candidate after scoring the highest among twenty applicants interviewed for the position.
Professor Ja’afar a distinguished academic from the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Life Sciences Modibbo Adama University Yola, is known for his extensive contributions to research teaching, and university administration.
The Governing Council expressed confidence that his wealth of experience will further strengthen the institution’s drive toward academic excellence and sustainable growth.
