The President Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Alhassan Yahya has distributed working equipments denoted by Northeast Development Commission to Journalists involved in accident in Bauchi.
Comrade Alhassan Yahya made the distribution during a sympathy visit to the NUJ Bauchi State Council.
He Commended the State Minister for Regional Development, Uba Maigari and NEDC Managing Director for their timely intervention to the affected Journalists.
The NUJ President said the equipment denoted include high resolution Camera, Tripod, Microphone to the Television Stations, Samsung Galaxy Phone to each of the Victims and 5 Million Naira.
“The Television Stations Include NTA, BATV, AIT and Arise”
The NUJ National President appeal to the 6 Governors in the Northeast region to pay Insurance Premiums to working Journalists in the zone to ease their health care challenges.
He said the Union is in talk with the National Health Insurance Authority for the smooth enrollment of members.
Comrade Alhassan appeal to NUJ Members to enroll into Health Insurance to reduce out of pocket spending and improve their health and wealbean.
“We Pray God for the quick recovery of the injured members who are still receiving treatment”
Comrade Alhassan Yahya Called on members to redouble their effort in adding value to the union for the benefits of all.
Earlier the Chairman NUJ Bauchi State Council Comrade Umar Sa’idu Commended the National President for the visit and his concerns to the injured Journalists.
Comrade Umar Sa’idu explain that the state Council is planning to organize a training to members on how to handle of accident victims during emergencies.
A Journalists with African Independent Television AIT Suleman Isa thank NEDC and the National President for their support and pray God to reward them abundantly.
Highlights of the NUJ National President Visit was Hospital Visitation to members who are receiving treatment at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital Bauchi and interactive session with the State Executive Council of the Union.
