The BBC Media Action has donated Radio production equipment to Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria FRCN, Fombina FM Yola in Adamawa State to enhance programme production and strengthen the capacity of broadcast staff.
The donation is part of the Media for Explosive Ordnance Risk Education Project covering Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom.
In a letter addressed to the management of Fombina FM, the Country Director of BBC Media Action Nigeria, Lekan Onasanya, said the equipment was presented in line with the existing partnership between the organisation and the station.
He explained that the items are meant to support the production of radio programmes and facilitate capacity-building sessions for staff of the station to improve their technical skills in radio production.
The equipment donated includes 1 HP Pro One all-in-one desktop computer, two Zoom H8 handy recorders, two Shure dynamic microphones, two Takstar headphones, four 10 mm XLR cables, two SanDisk memory cards, a Bluegate UPS and a four-channel Yamaha mixer.
Other items provided are a Takstar condenser studio microphone, an M-Audio studio monitor speaker, a Xiaomi power bank and a Redmi Pad Pro tablet to further support programme production and training activities at the station.
