Breaking: ASUU gives FG 4-day ultimatum on new salary structure.

By Abubakar Baba Ahmad.

The National President of the Academic Union of Universities ASUU Professor Christopher Piwuna has given the Federal Government four days ultimatum starting from Thursday the 26th of March to implement the agreed new Salary structure for University academics.

Professor Christopher Piwuna gave the ultimatum during a Public Lecture organised by ASUU Sa’adu Zungur University SAZU Bauchi chapter.

The ASUU National President said the union and its members are tired of waiting for the government to pass into law and commence implementation of the 2026 budget, before the new salary structure would become a reality.

He condemned the agreement signed by President Bola Tinubu in London, the capital of the United Kingdom during his recent State visit particularly on the establishment of a branch of Coventry University in Nigeria, describing the step as an act of neocolonialism in the education sector.

The ASUU National President called on all local chapters of the union to always work in unison- being the leadership trademark of the association- to remain united and strong.
