The National Orientation Agency, NOA, has called on residents of Yobe State to uphold peace, integrity, and national unity as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.
The Acting State Director of the Agency, Hajiya Maryam Usman Shettima, made the call during a radio phone-in programme and interview session at Radio Nigeria Sunshine FM in Potiskum.
Represented by the Agency’s Public Relations Officer, Sabiu Sule Maikwano, Hajiya Maryam Shettima also congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, urging them to reflect on the lessons of the holy month by promoting peace, tolerance, and unity in their communities.
She stressed the need for citizens to reject political thuggery, drug abuse, and all forms of violence that could disrupt the electoral process.
The Acting State Director further highlighted the Agency’s ongoing campaign, tagged “2027 Elections Without Bitterness,” aimed at ensuring peaceful, credible, and inclusive elections nationwide.
