Defence Ministers Visit Shehu of Borno, Reaffirm Commitment to Security.

The Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa (rtd), alongside the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has paid a courtesy visit to the Shehu of Borno at his palace in Maiduguri, as part of efforts to strengthen civil-military relations and enhance security coordination in the North East.

During the visit, the Minister expressed appreciation for the royal father’s unwavering support to security operations and condoled with him over the recent attacks by terrorist groups in Maiduguri, other parts of the state, and the wider North East region.

He reassured residents of the Federal Government’s commitment to restoring normalcy and ensuring the safety of lives and property.

Responding, the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Elkanemi, commended the Federal Government and the Armed Forces for their sustained efforts in combating insurgency in the region.

He emphasized the need for continued synergy between traditional institutions and security agencies to achieve lasting peace.
