Jajere Dumps PDP, Resigns Party Membership.

The Member Representing Fika/Fune Federal Constituency and the Deputy Chairman House of Representative committee on Sports, Muhammad Buba Jajere, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party. (PDP).

Honourable Jajere, who was elected on the platform of the PDP in the 2023 general elections, conveyed his resignation in a letter addressed to his Ward Chairman, Buwa Bukar, in Jajere Ward of Fune Local Government Area, Yobe State.

Following his resignation, the lawmaker announced his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has since registered as a member alongside the member representing Bade/Jakusko, Malam Hassan Elbin Jaks.

Both lawmakers are expected to be formally received by the leadership of the National Assembly on April 21, 2026.

Expressing appreciation to the PDP for providing him the platform to serve, Jajere said the decision was taken considering the party’s leadership crises, the interest of his constituency and the political future of the country, calling on his supporters to join him in this new political journey.

Some residents of the area who spoke to Radio Nigeria commended the lawmaker’s decision, describing it as timely and beneficial to the constituency.

They explained that Jajere has executed several constituency projects, including provision of water supply, electricity, healthcare services, road construction and educational support.

The APC Ward Chairman, Ahmed Barka Jajere, expressed appreciation over the development and called on the lawmaker to work with all stakeholders for the progress of the people.
