Governor Babagana Zulum has condoled with the officers and men of the 29 Task Force Brigade in Benisheikh following a terror attack that claimed the lives of several soldiers, including the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Oseni Braimah.
The 29 Task Force Brigade in Benisheikh was thrown into mourning following a Wednesday night attack by terrorists which claimed the lives of several personnel, including the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Oseni Braimah.
Governor Babagana Zulum, who visited the Brigade Headquarters to offer his condolences, described the loss as tragic. He praised the gallantry of the fallen heroes, noting that their sacrifice in the line of duty would not be forgotten.
As part of efforts to boost morale, Governor Zulum requested the names of the security personnel and volunteers serving in the area, promising to provide the necessary support to enhance their operations. The Governor, who condemned the attack, called for a review of security strategies to prevent future occurrences, especially since the troops had reportedly received intelligence regarding a potential assault by terrorists three days before the incident occurred.
Responding on behalf of the Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel CN Onyemauwa thanked the Governor for his consistent support. He assured that the military is already taking steps to strengthen its formations across the sector.
Before leaving Benisheikh, the Governor also addressed the residents, urging them to remain resilient and vigilant. He reaffirmed his administration’s primary goal of ensuring the safety of lives and property across the state.
