A governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Yobe State, Kashim Musa Tumsa, has debunked rumours suggesting he plans to defect to the Social Democratic Party, SDP, to pursue his ambition.

Tumsa made the clarification during an interview in Damaturu, where he said he remains a committed member of the APC and has no intention of leaving the party.

He explained that his presence in the state capital was to honour an invitation by his traditional ruler, His Royal Highness Mai Bade, who is hosting a wedding ceremony for his children.

On the forthcoming party primaries, the aspirant expressed confidence that the process would be free and fair, urging the public to disregard speculations to the contrary.

He noted that the party has not issued any official statement indicating otherwise, adding that recent engagements with party leadership point towards a credible exercise.

Tumsa also revealed that although he has received invitations from other political parties, including a public expression of interest from the SDP, he remains loyal to the APC and intends to pursue his governorship ambition within the party.

He further stated that the people of Yobe State are yearning for change and have shown willingness to support his vision for a new direction.

The aspirant called on residents to remain resolute in their demand for progress, assuring that better days lie ahead for the state.
