A Gubernatorial aspirant with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Bauchi state, Kashim Ibrahim has assured that if given the mandate he will turn around the state’s economic, health and educational fortunes of the state.
Kashim Ibrahim who stated this while interacting with journalists in Bauchi on his interest to contest the governorship ticket under the SDP platform, said the state has a lot of potentials to stand out among its counterparts in the northeast.
He noted that with the abundant potentials of natural and human resources in the state, there were numerous opportunities that the citizens would be engaged to improve their economic status.
Kashim Ibrahim who was the immediate past Secretary to the State Government (SSG) argued that while serving under Governor Bala Mohammed, he had introduced many reforms, to include blocking revenue leakages in government agencies.
He reiterated that if given the opportunity to serve, he would prioritise agribusiness and other economic activities to enable the state produce enough food, become more viable and complete favourably with other states of the federation.
When asked on his resignation from the Governor Bala Mohammed’s led administration and subsequently the PDP, Kashim Ibrahim said he had never regretted his decision, expressing satisfaction his participation and contributions impacted in the development of the state.
He noted that giving his experience as a lecturer in one of the Nigerian universities, years of civil service to the rank of a Director in the Federal Government and serving as SSG, fixing the wrongs would not be a hectic job.
Kashim Ibrahim reassured members of the party that he has the capability and capacity to deliver good governance, hence the need for them to give him the mandate for the actualisation that dream.
