Bauchi State Students win International Debate for Nigeria in Indonesia.

Nigeria’s representative and Bauchi State Contingent comprising of four girls and one boy has defeated three other countries to emerge best in Mathematics at the 2024 Presidential International Debate for Upper basic schools in Indonesia.

The Leader of the Contingents Malam Zuhairu Usman stated this at the presentation of Certificates to the students and Trophy to the Executive Chairman Chairman SUBEB Alhaji Adamu Duguri at the board’s headquarters in Bauchi.

Malam Zuhairu Usman who is the Director School Services Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB said the students performed exceptionally well by securing a Gold Trophy in Mathematics, Certificates and bronze medals in best Speaker, Disciplined Debater and most Competent categories.

While disclosing that all the continents have now been fully paid their Duty Tour Allowance DTA of two million three hundred and sixty eight thousand naira, Malam Zuhairu expressed gratitude to the state government for its commitment to supporting all academic activities.

Presenting the Certificates to the Participants, the Executive Chairman SUBEB Alhaji Adamu Duguri represented by the board’s Permanent Secretary Alhaji Abdulhamid Jibrin who restated commitment towards an all inclusive education, noted that the efforts have started yielding results as fifty percent of Out of school children OoSC have been returned to school.

He commends the students and teachers for their outstanding performance and called on all education officials to put more effort towards sustaining the tempo.

Also Speaking a Permanent Member at the Special Schools Management Board Malam Umar Sa’id Promised continued support to such initiatives, noting that the mandate of the board is to train the best among students in the state.

Speaking on behalf of Parents of the participants, Mustapha Garba Gumau expressed appreciation to the state government and teachers for their effort towards securing the future of the children, hoping that the state will become lead in the education sector in the country.

In their separate remarks, some of the Contingents Muhammad Aslam Ahmad and Fatima Mustapha Gumau appreciated the Governor and SUBEB Chairman for their support towards making the journey fruitful and securing victory at the event.
