NAHCON Strengthens Pilgrims’ Education, Inaugurates 2026 Hajj Ulama Team

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has intensified efforts to enhance pilgrims’ education and spiritual preparedness ahead of the 2026 Hajj.

Chairman of the Commission Ismail Yusuf Abba reaffirmed this commitment during a strategic engagement and inauguration of the 2026 Hajj Ulama Team in Abuja.

The event, brought together about 120 prominent Islamic clerics from across the country to deliberate on improving guidance for intending pilgrims.

Among those in attendance were Mansur Ibrahim Sokoto, Bala Lau, Abdulrahman Olanrewaju Ahmed, and Muhammad Kabir Haruna Gombe, alongside other respected scholars.

The Commission emphasized pilgrims’ education and orientation as a key priority, urging the Ulama to conduct intensive sensitization in multiple languages before and during the Hajj.

The Chairman stressed that clerics must provide clear guidance on Hajj rites, respond promptly to pilgrims’ concerns and offer continuous support to ensure proper observance of religious obligations.

The Ulama team also pledged to organize special prayer sessions, particularly at Arafat, for Nigeria’s unity, peace and prosperity, while encouraging pilgrims to embrace patience, sincerity and devotion for a spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience.
