The Yobe State All Progressives Congress, APC, Critical Stakeholders Forum has announced former Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali, as its preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
The decision was contained in a statement issued after the stakeholders’ meeting held on Wednesday in Abuja.
According to the forum, Baba Malam Wali is a seasoned technocrat with the required qualifications, patience, and leadership temperament needed to move the state forward.
The stakeholders noted that the former SSG has played active roles in various administrations in Yobe State over the years, describing him as well-positioned to sustain the mission and vision of the state’s development agenda.
The forum also recalled that the party, during its stakeholders’ meeting last week, agreed to adopt the consensus method in producing candidates for future elections.
It further reaffirmed the adoption of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
Governor Mai Mala Buni and Chairman of the State Stakeholders Forum, Ibrahim Gaidam, assured party members that dialogue and consultations would continue to strengthen unity within the party.
