Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the abduction of students of the faculty of engineering, nasarawa state university, keffi, gudi campus.
The state police public relation officer SP Ramhan Nansel confirmed the arrest to newsmen in lafia, the state capital.
SP Ramhan Nansel said the breakthrough follow sustained intelligence-led operations and coordinated tactical efforts by operatives of the command, which results to arrest the suspect.
According to him, the syndicate, were apprehended after diligent investigation and strategic operations aimed at dismantling the criminal network responsible for the abduction.
He confirm that the abducted students have been released safely and reunited with their families while victims are currently receiving medical treatment and necessary support following their ordeal.
SP Ramhan Nansel also confirmed that, the state commissioner of police assured members of the public that investigations are ongoing with a view to arrest other fleeing members of the syndicate and bringing all those involved in the crime to justice.
He said, CP Shatima Jauro Mohammed, commended the operatives involved in the operation, ensuring the safety and security of residents as well reiterated the command’s determination to rid nasarawa state of all forms of criminality, particularly kidnapping and other violent crimes.
He appreciates the support and cooperation of members of the public, whose timely information and collaboration greatly contributed to the success of the operation and encouraged citizens to remain vigilant, provide useful information to security agencies.
