Thousands of supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, from across the 17 local government areas of Yobe State, stormed Damaturu in a massive show of solidarity to welcome Governor Mai Mala Buni and the party’s preferred governorship aspirant, Baba Malam Wali, following their successful screening in Abuja.
The supporters gathered at the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport, where Governor Buni described the large turnout as clear evidence that Yobe remains a stronghold of the APC.
The governor urged party members and supporters to remain united and not allow politics to create divisions among them.
He also cautioned against political banter, name-calling, and abusive language, saying such actions are against the culture and character of the people of Yobe State.
Governor Buni commended residents for their continued support and cooperation with his administration, noting that the partnership had led to significant achievements, including the development of the airport.
He further appreciated party supporters for their confidence in the decisions of the APC leadership, especially in producing the party’s preferred governorship aspirant.
