President Bola Tinubu has won the All Progressives Congress APC Presidential Direct Primary Election in Bauchi State, with 156,541 votes to defeat his co-contestant, Stanley Osifo, who polled 2650 votes.
Announcing the results, the State Coordinator and Collation Officer for the party’s Direct Presidential Primaries Professor Ali Pate said the election witnessed a total voters turnout of 159,191 representing 89.23 percent, with President Tinubu securing 98.34 percent of the total votes cast, while Stanley Osifo got 1.66 percent.
Ali Pate who is the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare said the result is a reflection of the overwhelming confidence and support the people of Bauchi State have on the president considering the numerous interventions being enjoyed by the poor and vulnerable especially women and children.
He called on the entire people of the to replicate same in the 2027 general election across all elective positions by rallying round all APC candidates to victory to enable them enjoy the dividends of democracy.
On the recently held primary elections across various levels, the leader of the party in the state appealed to those who lost to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship and for those that secured various tickets to be magnanimous in victory, and join hands in unity to propel the party to victory in next year’s general elections.
Professor Pate used the medium to appreciate all party stakeholders including the exco, elders, youth and women groups for their efforts and resilience throughout the processes, calling on them to sustain the momentum towards making the party more stronger and united.
Earlier, the State APC Chairman Muhammad Hassan Tilde reiterated the party’s readiness to commence reconciliation and engagement with aggrieved aspirants and standard flag bearers to ensure unity and strength before in the party.
The exercise which was monitored by INEC and various Security Officials saw hundreds of Party faithful to include the State Governorship Candidate Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar SAN, all candidates of the party across various elective positions as well as women and youth groups in attendance.
