The Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the commencement of payments for the 2027 Hajj exercise, urging intending pilgrims to begin registration early to avoid last-minute challenges.
The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Sa’adu Hassan, made this known shortly after arriving at the Gombe International Airport with the second and final batch of Gombe pilgrims returning from the 2026 Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.
Alhaji Sa’adu Hassan explained that the board has stopped fixing a specific date for the commencement of Hajj payments, noting that prospective pilgrims can now make deposits at any time.
He said intending pilgrims can begin payments from Monday, stressing that the board’s account is already open for all those planning to perform the 2027 Hajj.
The Executive Secretary attributed the success recorded during the 2026 pilgrimage to early preparations by both the board and the pilgrims, which helped in completing necessary arrangements ahead of time.
He therefore encouraged intending pilgrims to emulate the same approach for a smooth and successful 2027 Hajj exercise.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Board and Emir of Dukku, Alhaji Haruna Abdulqadir Rashid, advised prospective pilgrims to commence payments as early as possible.
The appeal comes as Gombe State concludes the return of its pilgrims from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia following the successful completion of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
