Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has inaugurated the All Progressives Congress (APC) grassroots voters’ mobilisation campaign in the state, saying the party has commenced strategic engagement at the polling unit level in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
The governor made the declaration during a meeting with the leadership and members of the APC Polling Unit Supporters Association, popularly known as ‘Yan Akwatina, led by its Chairman, Hon. Najib Abdulkadir Salati, in Kano.
Yusuf said the mobilisation campaign was aimed at securing victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, himself and other APC candidates in the 2027 polls. He noted that President Tinubu’s re-election would provide an opportunity to consolidate the Federal Government’s economic reforms and sustain ongoing infrastructure development across the country.
He stressed that strengthening the APC’s grassroots structures remained critical to expanding the party’s support base and ensuring electoral success at both the state and national levels.
To support the association’s mobilisation efforts, the governor announced a donation of ₦100 million and allocated plots of land to the group.
Earlier, the Governor’s Political Adviser, Mustapha Hamza Buhari Bakwana, described the meeting as the formal commencement of the party’s grassroots mobilisation strategy ahead of the 2027 elections.
Bakwana said the APC Polling Unit Supporters Association had structures across the state’s polling units and possessed the capacity to mobilise more than 1.12 million votes for President Tinubu during the next presidential election.
