The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, disclosed this to newsmen shortly after meeting with the Gombe State chapter of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) in his office.
Professor Sani Yauta stated that the Faculty of Engineering would, no doubt, contribute positively to the progress of the university, Gombe State, and the nation as a whole.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed appreciation to NSE for its interest in the establishment of the Faculty of Engineering in the university.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Gombe State chapter, Engineer Mohammed Saidu, said that if established, the faculty would play a significant role in producing high-quality engineering graduates who would become employers of labour rather than job seekers.
He assured the university of the NSE’s support in achieving its desired objectives.
The chairman further explained that Gombe State is well-developed with infrastructure that requires qualified indigenous engineers for effective management.
In a remark, the National Ex-Officio of NSE, Engineer Bello Gwarzo, stated that the Gombe State chapter of the society had achieved a lot, considering its commitment to partnering with the state government in promoting engineering activities.
