NUT HOLDS TRADE UNION RETREAT FOR IT’S SWEC MEMBERS.

A 3-day Trade Union Education Leadership Workshop for State Working Executive Council of Nigeria Union of Teachers, Adamawa state Wing is holding in Yola, the Adamawa state Capital.

The workshop aimed at acquainting the new state leadership and in extension, all the SWEC members to the rudiments of running the affairs of Nigeria Union of Teachers.

Declaring the workshop open, the National President of NUT Comrade Titus Audu Amber who was represented by the National Representative, Comrade Solomon Kambasaya, said the seminar is timely inview of the present drive of Comrade Mohammed Faisal’s leadership in re-inventing formidable initiatives for teachers in Adamawa state.

The National President who Congratulated the State EXCOS on their emergence urged the participants to listen attentively to the lectures and take of the lessons being learnt during the grill.

While presenting the NUT leadership training Materials to the Special Guests, the National coordinator,NUT Study Circle, Comrade Solomon Igbelowowa, said the Trade Union workshop was introduced since 1983 by the National leadership of NUT, highlighting the role of teachers in shaping the future of the young ones for nation building.

He emphasized that every successful man in Nigeria must have passed through teaching by teachers hence the need to take the job with pride and confidence for a better future.

The State Chairman of NUT, Adamawa state Wing, Comrade Faisal Mohammed had earlier explained the need for the study cycle Workshop meant to prepare the State EXCO and the Branch Chairmen on the task ahead of leadership.

Faisal who was visibly happy with the huge attendance noted that the seminar is apt as the issue of local government autonomy is on the front -banner and it will prepare them for the collective bargaining.

The NUT Chairman thanked the Adamawa state Government for the support in ensuring the success of the event.

There were goodwill messages from the permanent member,1 of the Universal Basic Education Board Yola,Mr Adiel Kurda,Management of Post Primary Education Board and the Ministry of Education and Human capital Development where they all commended Comrade Faisal Mohammed, the NUT Chairman for the training initiative.
