Jigawa Assembly Begins A Two Day Working Visit To Jahun LG

Jigawa State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government has commenced a two day working visit in Jahun local government council to assess the performance of the local council in terms of administrative and financial matters.

The Chairman of the Committee who is the member representing Gwiwa Constituency, Alhaji Aminu Zakari, said the visit is part of the function of the legislature to oversee the activities of the government as mandated by the constitution.

According to him, the committee will assess the list of capital projects, progress report, security, management and legislative council meeting minutes as well as internal revenue analysis and payment vouchers among others from October 2024 to date.

Alhaji Aminu Zakari further explained that, the visit will also provide an opportunity for interaction between the legislative arm, the local government management team and the legislative council to exchange views and provide recommendations that will ensure good governance at the grassroot level.

Earlier in a welcome address, the Chairman Jahun Local Government Council Alhaji Jamilu Muhammad Danmalam, noted that his first interaction with members of the legislative arm during the assessment and defence of the 2024 budget proposal have given him the opportunity to acquire some basic administrative skills.

Malam Jamilu Danmalam prayed for the visit to have positive impact on the local government council and Jahun community in general.
