Bauchi Gov’t Distributes Ramadan Palliatives to Religious Groups

Bauchi State Government has commenced the distribution of Ramadan food palliatives to religious sect groups across the state.

The food items, worth millions of naira, include rice, millet, maize, and sugar.

Speaking during the distribution, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Hajiya Hajara Yakubu Wanka, said the initiative was part of government’s commitment to support citizens during Ramadan and other festive periods, aimed at cushioning the effect of economic difficulties faced by Nigerians.

Hajiya Hajara explained that the first batch was allocated to religious sect groups due to their close ties with the Muslim community during Ramadan.

The Commissioner who stated that Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) also received a share to give them sense of belonging, urged beneficiaries to use the items judiciously.

In a remark, the Commissioner for Religious Affairs and Social Orientation, Alhaji Binni Abdulkadir, stated that each sect would receive 100 bags of rice, 100 bags of millet, 100 bags of maize, and 10 bags of sugar, among other items.

He urged Muslims to use the Ramadan period to seek Allah’s guidance for Nigeria and Bauchi State in overcoming security and economic challenges.

Representatives of Jama’atu Iza’latil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS), Kadiriyya, Tijjaniyya, Jama’atun Nasrul Islam (JNI), CAN among other Organisations commended the state government for the support and pledged to judiciously distribute the items to their followers.
