Adamawa State Gov resolves to complete abandoned project by past administration.

Adamawa state government, under the leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintir has resolved to complete some abandoned projects in the state.

This was made Known by the commissioner of information and strategy Neido Geofrey Kufolto while briefing Newsmen after the executive councils meeting chaired by the governor of the state at the government house Yola.

The commissioner of information and strategy, Neido Geofrey Kufoltu said at the executive council meeting, the executives came up with only one memo from the ministry of rural infrastructure and community development.

The commissioner said, during the meeting, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri had observed that there are critical projects in the state that were abandoned by the previous administrations.

She said abandoned projects are many in the state which the governor see as waste of resources of Adamawa state and has resolved to complete some of these projects.

Neido Kufolto further revealed that there is an upward review of the electrification projects of about seven communities and villages in Gombi local government area, which includes fahar, Bewa, kaulewa and Guyaku earlier awarded to Galaxy.

“ it was awarded to the contractor M.S Galaxy rays limited on the 24th February 2007 at the contract sum of forty four million, four hundred and sixty thousand, four hundred and eleven naira, eleven kobo only”

The commissioner said, mobilization had been paid already but the contracting firm abandoned the project at twenty percent completion saying the project was stopped as a result of differences in prizes of materials hence the need for the upward review of the approved budget.

“ and so far now, the council has approved the sumof one hundred and ninety million, six hundred and seventy six thousand, two hundred and fifty nine naira, ten kobo for the upward review and it has been approved by the council for the completion of the project in Gombi local government area”

According to the commissioner, the project is captured in the 2023 approved budget under a project code and the project will immediately commence because it has been approved by the council.
