Adamawa State government to partner American University of Nigeria for more development.

Adamawa state government has agreed to partner with the American university of Nigeria AUN, for the development of the state.

Adamawa state Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri disclosed this when he received in audience the president of Abti American university, Dr Dewayne Frazier who led a team of management staff of the university on a courtesy call at the government house yola.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said his administration welcomes partnership with the American university on all facets, particularly in the area of scholarship for its students, skill acquisition and entrepreneurship so as to reposition the youths in the state as they are the key players in the turn around of the economy.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri said the state government will continue to do its best for the state as now is the time to work and the government will ensure that it did its best to see that road infrastructure, security and all other developmental projects in the state go on smoothly as planned.

According to the governor, what the government is trying to do is to harmonize the relationship between its people irrespective of their differences so as to work together for the benefit of the state.

While acknowledging the existence of the AUN community within the state and the great things they’ve been doing , the governor emphasized that government will concentrate more on ensuring that it work together with the university in all areas and position the state where it will maximize all its potentials.

The governor thanked the team for the visit and also appreciated the president for his efforts to market the state to the outside world and other embassies to come and visit as well as invest in the state.

Earlier,
the president of the American university of Nigeria, Dr. Dewayne Frazier said they were at the government house to condole the governor over the death of one of the important person close to his family, Engineer Abbawu Watharda, a former chairman of Madagali local government area.

Dr. Frazier commended the governor on the developmental projects of his administration across the state.

The president hinted that AUN is trying to find a way to partner the state government in the area of scholarship for students as the state is blessed with very intelligent young people who can’t afford to go to school but with the governor’s initiatives for the development of education in the state this can be overcome.

According to Dr. Frazier this will help the students to use the knowledge acquired and the exposure to grow the local economy of the state.

The president, acknowledged the efforts of governor Fintiri on infrastructural development as well as security measures across the state, adding that the US embassy is working on ways through which it can complement those efforts by deploying more troops to fight insecurity.

High point of the visit was a presentation of gifts to the governor.
