Aliko Dangote Foundation Launches National Rice Relief Program, Disburses 120,000 bags of rice In Kano

In the spirit of Ramadan, the Dangote Foundation in Nigeria has donated 10kg of rice to be distributed to over one million less privilege people across the country.

Flagging off the distribution in Kano , the Africa’s billionaire and President Dangote group Alhaji Aliko Dangote said, the Distribution was going simultaneously in Kano and Lagos States.

He explained that, Kano will be receiving 120,000 bags while the rest will be shared across the 774 local government areas across the country.

Dangote noted that, the gesture amounting to N15 billion naira was aimed at supporting the less privilege in the society.

He said, “this initiatives is part of our response to the current economic challenges facing our nation and it is a testament to supporting our communities in line with our core values.”

According Dangote, the goal of his foundation is to extend its reach across all the 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory to ensure that, many Nigerians benefits from the gesture.

“This distribution of rice is another demonstration of our commitment of upholding the values of compassion and solidarity that are at the core of humanity.”

Aliko Dangote said, the initiative is part of the existing and ongoing feeding programs being carried out by the foundation to vulnerable people in Kano state which has been in existence over thirty years ago.

The Kano state Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf commended Aliko Dangote’s humanitarian services and other interventions in Nigeria and across Africa.

The Governor called on the distribution committee to ensure that, the targeted beneficiaries receive the gesture.

“This kindness especially in this Holy Month of Ramadan exemplified the spirit of unity, compassion and support that we must foster in our communities.

The Governor called on other philanthropist in the society to emulate the Dangote Foundation in touching lives of the people.

Also, the Managing Director Dangote Foundation Mrs Zouera Yousoufu informed the gathering that, the foundation is has spend millions of Dollars in humanitarian services across Africa.

She said, the foundation in collaboration with Melinda gates foundation aren’t working on immunization program to eradicate polio and improve access to Health care.
