Members of the Bauchi State College of Arts and Sciences, BACAS Old Students’ Association have committed to contribute their quota towards the development of education across Bauchi and Gombe states.

The old students made the commitment at the First Reunion Convention of Old Students Reunion of classes of 1976 to 1980 held at the Yelwa Campus of Tafawa Balewa University ATBU Bauchi.

They resolved that their contribution would serve as pay back to the society in appreciation to the Conducive learning environment provided them by government during their tender age, where everything was free.

In an interview with Radio Nigeria, the Chairman, Organizing Committee for the reunion, Alhaji Yusuf Daudu Kaltungo who said their decision was born out of their foresight, pointed out that part of it would include provision of scholarship to younger ones with a view to making them productive members of the society.

Alhaji Yusuf Kaltungo said this would be realized through savings some amount of money that would be sourced among them, informing that when the savings reached a certain amount, it would be disbursed to a number of select youth who are academically sound.

The BACAS old students who gathered from across the country, expressed delight that after long time of parting, they were able to meet each other again in good health.
