Christians have been admonished to extend a helping hand to the less privileged as they celebrate Christmas.

An Associate Pastor with ECWA Orji Housing Estate, Pastor Rowlings Buba Yangari, made the call in an interview with Radio Nigeria Jewel FM, in Gombe.

Reading from the Book of Matthew chapter 2, pastor Rowlings said, that every Christian is expected to extend a hand of fellowship to one another, to meet people at their point of need, and to put a smile on their faces so they don’t wonder what the essence of Christmas is.

The Clergy then said that every believer should ask his or herself if he or she has Christ in his or her heart so that they do not just celebrate Christmas for celebration’s sake but rather for the birth of Christ, explaining that the birth of Christ which is the reason for the celebration is to bring peace and salvation to the world.

Pastor Rowlings, therefore called on every Christian to put a smile on the faces of the less privileged, and not to bear grudges with one another but rather have peace in their hearts to unite the world.

Also speaking in a separate interview, Mr Ibrahim Ishaku of ECWA Gombe West DCC, called on Christians to pray for the protection of God as they go about their celebrations and conduct their selves peacefully.
