Eid-el-Fitr: Governor Yusuf donates cows, and food items to Kano custodial centres

Ahead of the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has donated cows and food items to Kano custodial centres.

Presenting the items the governor said that the gesture would give the inmates a sense of belonging.

Represented by, the Chairperson of the Committee on Prerogative of Mercy in the state, Hajiya Azumi Namadi-Bebeji the governor assured the inmates of the government’s continued support for their wellbeing.

“We will continue to provide the dividends of democracy to all and sundry, and this category of citizens will not be left behind,”

Receiving the items on behalf of the inmates, the Controller of Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) in the state, Sulaiman Inuwa thanked the state government for the kind gesture.

“Putting smiles on the faces of the inmates will motivate them to become productive and law-abiding citizens after serving their jail terms,”

Inuwa further said that NCoS would partner with the state government to enhance the criminal justice administration in the state.

Radio Nigeria reports that some of the food items include, bags of rice, cartons of vegetable oil, and seasoning, among others.
