First Lady Inaugurates NWNN In Jigawa, Vows To Empower 5,000 Women

The wife of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Mrs Oluremi Bola Ahmed Tinubu has inaugurated the Jigawa State chapter of the No Woman, No Nation empowerment group.

She explained that, the program is aimed at empowering millions of women and being the voice of the voiceless across the thirty six states in the country.

Oluremi Tinubu who was represented by the organization’s chairman, Ambassador Akintola Olubasayo, explained that the group is a nationwide initiative under the Better Nigeria Programs of the First Lady’s Office.

The first Lady said, they inaugurated the jigawa state chapter of the organization under the leadership of Hajiya Zainab Mohammed Pawa, with the aim of lifting over five thousand women out of poverty in the state.

Also speaking, the Jigawa State Coordinator of NWNN, Hajiya Zainab Mohammed Pawa, said the organization is non-religious, partisan, and profit, with a membership that include all categories of nigerian women, such as politicians, civil servants, market women, and full time house wives.

She identified the objectives of the organizationas women’s organization, entrepreneurship, empowerment,youth development and assisting widows and orphans.

According to her, the program will also empower women economically and health wise through education, health, agriculture, and poverty alleviation programs.

Hajiya Zainab Mohammed pointed out that, the organization has a leadership structure that covers all 36 states and the FCT, as well as all 774 local government areas in Nigeria.

She expressed her appreciation to the state Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, and the good people of Jigawa for their support to the association.
