Fuel subsidy palliative : KNSG commences distribution of Food Items to the less privilege

The Kano State Government has commenced the distribution of food items to the vulnerable, and the less privilege people across the 44 Local government areas of the state.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf disclosed this during the Formal Launching /Flagg off of the agricultural intervention programme held in Kano.

He said the gesture was aimed at cushioning the effects of fuel subsidy removal.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf explained that the state government would distributes two hundreds and ninety seven thousand 10kg bags of rice free to the needy.

He noted that one thousand and sixty people would benefits from the gesture, stressing that other food items like millet, corn among others would also be distributed to the vulnerable group.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf maintained that government had made a befitting plan through the establishment of various committees to ensuring adequate distribution of the food items.

He warned that any government official found wanting in the process of the distribution of the food items would be dealt with accordingly.

The Governor further explained that people living with disability would be given special consideration during the process of distributing the palliative, geared towards ensuring that the food items reaches the vulnerable groups in the society.

During the ceremony farm inputs were also distributed to farmers with the sole aim of boosting agricultural products in the state.

The ceremony was graced by the vulnerable groups, government officials and other stakeholder.
