Gov. Buni Assures Commitment to Ensure Hitch-Free Bye-election in Yobe

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has presided over a routine State Security meeting with the heads of security Agencies in the state.

Speaking at the meeting held in the Government House, Damaturu, Governor Mai Mala Buni, represented by his Deputy Idi Barde Gubana, said that the meeting is part of the efforts to ensure a hitch-free Senatorial bye-election coming up on 3rd February 2024.

Buni explained that the meeting will deliberate on necessary steps and measures to be taken especially in areas where there are some hitches to ensure that people exercise their franchise free and fair.

The Governor revealed that with the effort put in place by the Government with the Security Agencies in the state, every citizen would have easy access to exercise his civic right.

In a briefing shortly after the meeting, the Yobe State Police Commissioner CP. Ahmad Garba explained that the forthcoming Yobe East Senatorial bye-election in the state will witness a high-security presence to ensure hitch-free conduct of the exercise.

He further appealed to the general public in the State to continue supporting the security agencies by providing them with meaningful information on the movement of any suspicious individual or group of persons to facilitate them overcoming all the security challenges during and after the election.
