Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has called on the Nigerian Armed Forces to be more patriotic and Nationalism to ensure that peace reigns in the State.
Governor Buni made the pronouncement after laying a wreath in honor of the fallen heroes at the celebration ceremony of the 2024 Army Remembrance Day held at Government House, Damaturu.
He prayed to ALLAH to grant the souls of the fallen heroes who lost their lives fighting to safeguard the territorial integrity of the Country an eternal rest.
In a remark, the Chairman of Nigeria Legion Yobe State, Capt. Ibrahim Ladi Gadine explained that the Legions are facing numerous challenges arising from the lack of accommodation, taking care of their Family, and payment of the children’s school fees among others as most of the houses they are squatting in have been demolished by the rain storm during the rainy season, added that their take-home pensions are not enough for them to cater with their need.
He further appeals to the general public to assist the families of the fallen heroes to ease their suffering.
