Governor Inuwa Yahaya Presents Over N200 Billion As 2024 Budget Estimates

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has presented the sum of two hundred and seven billion naira as the 2024 Budget Proposal to the Gombe State House of Assembly.
While presenting the 2024 budget, the Governor said the sum of eighty-seven point two billion is budgeted for recurrent expenditure representing forty-five per cent and one hundred and twenty point five billion naira was earmarked for capital expenditure which represented fifty-eight per cent of the total budgeted sum.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya explained that the sum of fifty-nine billion naira is allocated to Works, Housing and Transport, while eighteen point three is also allocated for Water, Resources, Environment and Forest Resources subsector.
The Governor further explained that the 2024 budget proposal is tagged Budget of Continuity and Consolidation, which is in line with the desire to build on the first term achievement and consolidate on the past gains.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya said the 2024 budget estimate is expected to be funded by federal allocation, Internally Generated Revenue and external and internal loans.
Responding, the Speaker of Gombe State House of Assembly Muhammed Abubakar Luggerewo, lauded the effort of Governor Inuwa Yahaya in transforming the state within a short period.
While commending the Governor for the timely presentation of the budget, the Speaker assured the speedy passage of the budget estimate.
