Governor Namadi Warns Council Chairmen On Absenteeism

Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has warned the 27 local government chairmen against unnecessary absenteeism from office.

He has also warned all the civil servants and the political appointees to dedicate their service to the citizens of the state.

Mallam Umar Namadi who was visibly annoyed for not meeting some council chairmen on seat when he paid an unscheduled visit to four local governments in the state.

The Governor who undertook an unannounced inspection tour to Kyawa, Miga and Kafin Hausa local governments, did not met the chairmen on seat.

He warned that henceforth, any chairman noted to be absent from his duty post without any reason will be queried to explained why.

Among the four local governments the Governor visited only the chairman of Jahun local government was found on seat.

The Governor since assumption of office in May 29, 2023 made it clear to all his political appointees to be staying in their various offices and work instead of moving from one place to another.

Radio Nigeria reports that some of the places visited by the Governor include local government secretariats, health facilities, and various levels of schools, with notable institutions such as the Government Girls Science Secondary School in Jahun and Boys Science College in Kafin Hausa.
