INEC Affirms Readiness for Rerun Elections in Sokoto State.

Political parties and stakeholders have been advised to adhere strictly to the laws guiding the upcoming rerun elections in federal and state constituencies in Sokoto state.
The administrative Secretary of the Independent National Electoral Commission in charge of Sokoto state, Hajiya Hauwa Aliyu gave the advice at a stakeholders meeting as part of preparation for the rerun elections in Yabo and Shagari Federal Constituency as well as Bodinga North and Tambuwal West State Constituency of the state.
The rerun elections which was slated to take place on the 3rd of February 2024 was in respect to a court order given to the INEC to repeat the elections with a view to ensuring free and fair elections in the affected areas.
She noted that the successful conduct of the elections is a collective responsibility for all stakeholders stressing that media organizations and security agencies are keys stakeholders for the success of the elections in the state.
