MILITARY/POLICE CLASH: Gov. Fintiri meets with head of commands

Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said issues involving the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria police in the state has been resolved.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri made this know during a press briefing after the state high command strategic security meeting which took place on Wednesday night at the government house Yola.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri described the incident which occurred between the army and the Nigeria police in the state as unfortunate hence the need for the meeting in the interest of the peaceful coexistence in the state and the nation at large.

Governor Fintiri assured that all issues involving the two security commands have been extensively discussed and resolved.

According to the governor, two lives were lost, one army officer and one policeman adding that investigation into the matter is ongoing, hoping that such incident should not repeat itself again.

While assuring that normalcy has returned and everybody should go about his or her normal business, the governor said both the brigade commander and commissioner of police in the state are on top of the situation assuring that cordial relationship between the commands will continue.

The meeting has in attendance all security heads of the security agencies in the state as well as the deputy governor and the secretary to the state government.
