NGO Trains Youth, Women on Various Skills Acquisition.

Over one hundred women and youth from seven local government areas of Bauchi South Senatorial District have been trained in different skills acquisition and petty trade with a view to making them self-reliant.

The Programme was organized by Kyautatawa Iyali Maitama Tuggar Community Empowerment Initiative, held in Bauchi.

The participants were trained on sewing, catering, phone repair, pomade making, pasta and snacks making among others.

They are also provided with starter parks to include sewing, Pomade making, Pasta Maker machines, Grinding machine Electric Oven, Cooking Gas and bags of floor as well as Wheel-Chairs for the disable persons.

Addressing the participants at the closing ceremony of the training, the State Coordinator Taimakawa Iyali Maitama Tuggar Community Empowerment Initiative, Hajiya Samina Alka said the aim of organizing the programme was to cushion the effect of the country’s economic realities.

Also speaking the Deputy State Coordinator of the initiative, Alhaji Rilwanu Maidawa charged the beneficiaries to judiciously utilize the starter packs provided them, for the betterment of their families and the state in general.

Some of the beneficiaries spoken to, Anab Yakubu Daudu, Saudatu Dauda, Umar Muhammad Dawaki and Ummulkhulrsim Idris Ali, expressed appreciation to the organizers and pledged to judiciously use the items provided them to improve their economic status.

The event was attended by politicians, religious and traditional leaders as well as entertainers.
