Over 7 People Confirmed Dead And Several Others Injured In A Ghastly Motor Accident In Yobe

Over 7 people have been reported dead and several others injured in a ghastly motor accident which occurred along Nangere-Potiskum road in Yobe State.
The accident which occurred around 9:40am on Wednesday, according to eyewitness, was as a result of over speed, overload and brake failure.
The incidence led to the death of 3 persons on the spot, two others at Nangere Primary health care center, while 29 others are still been hospitalized with various degrees of injuries and 27 more people discharged.
The two vehicles involved in the accident are a trailer, loaded with 33 cows and more than 80 people on board, and a canter van loaded with solar panels and other electric equipments.
The state police public relations officer Abdulkareem Dungus while confirm the incidence said the police after receiving some calls from the villagers were able to contain the situation.
He explained that one cow was still missing while the 32 others that were recovered would be given back to the owners after investigations.
Mr Dungus commended the villagers and other volunteers who gave out helping hands at the time of the incidence.
