Over Three Thousand Persons Benefits from Shell Petroleum Development Company Empowerment Programme, in Yobe

As a result of the Challenges caused by insurgency and economic hardship, Over three thousand beneficiaries were trained and equipped with skills and resources through a shell petroleum development company joint venture (SPDC-JV) in collaboration with the Centre for Community Development and Research Network (CCDRN).

The Executive Director, of the Centre for community development and research network,CCDRN,Mallam Yusuf Umar Made this known in an event, Livelihood Project Exhibition Organized by the Network at CCDRN ConfHall in Damaturu.

The Executive Director, Represented by Director Programs, Abba Isiaku said the event was organized to showcase products produced by beneficiaries of SPDC-JV Livelihood improvement project, who are drawn from Gujba and Jakusko local government areas of Yobe state.

The SPDC-JV Livelihood project exhibition featured exhibitors from the two councils, showcasing a wide range of income generating products and services including well packaged groundnut oil, local paste,leather work and tailoring materials among others.

In addition to being trained and given starter packs,He added that beneficiaries underwent capacity building training, mentorship, and business development support and were linked to market outlet.

In a goodwill message, Yobe state commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Chairman Gujba Laval government, the Emir of Gujba,the beneficiaries all Commended SPDC-JV and CCDRN for the intervention and described the project as timely.

Highpoint of the event was the presentation of cultural dance and exhibition of products by the beneficiaries.
