World Postal Day: Penalty Await Violators of Stamp Duty Act.

The Nigerian Postal Service has organize Stakeholders engagement to commomerate world Postal day in Bauchi.

Speaking at the event the State Postal Manager Fatsuma Sabo Mustapha said all over the world the post is celebrating the anniversary of Universal Postal Union established in 1874 to create more awareness of the core mandate of postal service for socioeconomic development of the country.

Fatsuma Sabo explain that, the Post has reintroduce the use of Stamp authentication in daily transactions to improve the Internally generated Revenue of the Federal Government.

“It’s no longer news that the Post is one of the oldest communication sector that stand the test of time and it has been performing it core mandate of connecting people via and receiving of letters and other postal business of revenue generation to the government within and outside the country”

The State Postal Manager inform the gathering that Eighty five percent of the revenue generated through Stamp duty goes to States and Local government for the development of critical infrastructures.

She appeal to stakeholders to ensure compliance with the Law as all transactions decument to be legal stamp duty most be fix.

“Our major concern is how to serve you better, but we can only achieved this through your support and patronage”

The postal Manager emphasis that penalty await voilators of the provision of Stamp duty act.

Hajiya Fatsuma Sabo appeal to citizens to continue to patronize the Post services.

Highlight of the event include Presentation of award to some staff for excellent performance during the year under review.

It Could be recalled that every ninth of October is Celebrated as world Postal day and the theme for this year is Celebration together for trust Collaborative for a safe and Connected Future.
