YETFUND To Boost Capacity of Teachers and Provide Conducive Learning Environment For Pupils.

Yobe State Education Trust Fund (YETFUND) has handed over dozens of furniture sets to different schools across the state.
The Chairman, Board of Trustees Yobe State Education Trust Fund, Abubakar Mohammed Kachalla Ali, made this known while presenting learning materials to some schools in Damaturu, the State capital.
He explained that the board deemed it necessary to provide the interventions in a move to improve education standard and boost the learning capacity of students.
“From our interaction with the state Ministry of Education, they have certain requisitions that include water supply, VIP toilets, desks and tables for teachers, students and we evaluated the requisitions and found out that we are in a better position to intervene” he said.
He added that the Trust Fund has undertaken some civil works in some schools such as renovation of dilapidated Mai Mala Buni Model School, which was earlier in a bad shape.
The Board chair noted that so far, 27 schools have benefited from the YETFUND interventions, which he said include Mega Schools, Model schools and Government Girls Senior Secondary School.
Speaking on behalf of the principals of the benefiting schools, Sharifatu Abdulsalam Atiyaye, Principal GGDSSS Damaturu, appreciated the state government and YETFUND for coming to the aid of the schools.
Other areas of interventions according to him, include building the capacity of teachers and ensuring a suitable learning environment coupled with other demands of the sector.
“We also intend to remove the scourge of out of school children through campaigns for improving the enrollment of the students and ensuring that they always pass out with good results”
