The Adamawa State Government has pledged to always stand by the Nigeria Armed forces in protecting the territorial integrity of the Nation.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri made the pronouncement while delivering a goodwill message during a
special Sunday service held at ‘Our Lady of Fatima,23 Brigade , Gibson Jalo Cantonment Yola’ as part of itenaries lined up for the celebration of this year’s Nigeria Armed Forces remembrance day.

The Governor who was represented by the Chief of Staff, Government House Yola,Dr. Edgar Emos during the Sunday thanked the Armed Forces for their contributions in peace building of the nation.

The Governor also prayed for the souls of the fallen heroes who lost their lives while serving their Fatherland.

He called on people of the state to cooperate with the armed forces and embrace the spirit of peaceful coexistence.

In his sermon, flight leutenant Reverend Peter Emeali Said the Nigeria Armed Forces has been of great service to the country and will continue to celebrate victory and good testimonies every year as it marks this year rememberance Day.

He therefore admonished all and sundry to live a life worthy of emulation both spiritually and physically.

Reverend Peter said as the people gathered to celebrate and honored the armed forces who served in different capacities within and outside the country and the continent, they should be consistent in prayers for their safety and the country at large.

He called on them to leave a good legacy, lived an exemplary lives and serve as ladder of success to others, for all their deeds will be accounted for on the day of judgement.

He further noted that while celebrating the fallen heroes, their families and those they left behind should be taken care of .

During the service,Catekist Udoh prayed for God’s protection for the Nigeria Armed forces as the they continue to fight for peace and stability of the country.

He explained that many women were left as widows and children were orphaned as a result of the Nigeria armed forces struggle to sustain peace in the country.
The man of God prayed for God to console all the families who lost their loved ones.
In his closing remarks, the Brigade commander, 23 army brigade Yola, Brigadier General Paul Kefas Zawaya said a celebration like this called for both joy and sober reflection on the activities of the Nigeria armed forces as well as the civilians who stood with them in defending the sovereignty of the country in all aspects.

He thanked the state government as well as all those who contributed in marking this year’s celebration.

The vice chairman Nigerian Legion Adamawa State chapter, retired warrant officer, Zinas Tada thanked
the executive governor of and his cabinet for supporting the Nigeria legion in the preparations of this year’s celebration.

Serving commissioners and other top government officials attended the special Sunday service.

There were songs of praises and worship by the choir group and the women fellowship of the church.
